 Call for Application: 2023 Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship Program (GEMS)

The Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship (GEMS) Program aims to bring the stylish and brightest PhD scholars to Monash University Malaysia, where they can work with top-class exploration brigades on some of the world’s core challenges in full-time study. The GEMS program offers 15 literacy classes each year from 2022 to 2024, and education donors will be funded for 39 months. This is divided into two corridor, including 27 months in Malaysia and over to 12 months in Australia. Each PhD pupil will be supervised by a platoon of staff in Malaysia and Australia, and, as similar, the program will include a paid placement in Australia for over 12 months.

Stipends and Benefits

  • 100% education figure disclaimer for three times and three months under Global Excellence and Mobility Education (GEMS).
  • A yearly paycheck of RM 2,800 for 27 months while in Malaysia.
  • A periodic paycheck of AUD 37,000 for up to 12 months while in Australia.
  • An entitlement to cover trip and original cost of living charges in Australia.

Global Excellence and Mobility Education (GEMS) donors are needed to contribute a minimum of 10 hours per week in academic support and/or exploration support conditioning as determined by the managing school.

Eligibility Criteria for the Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship Program (GEMS)

  • seeker must meet the academic and English language conditions,
  • To be eligible for GEMS, you must retain a minimal academic qualification of First Class Honors (H1) or its parity (H1E) honored by Monash Malaysia.
  • You must satisfy particular academic and English-language conditions.

Applications must be submitted through this form with the following documents:

  • Academic transcripts (certified true copies with grading scales)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement on why you think are a good match for the GEMS program (300 words)
  • Research proposals for up to 2 preferred research topics
  • Proof of English proficiency (Based on Monash University English language requirements)
  • All shortlisted candidates will be invited for a panel interview.
  • Successful applicants will receive an Invitation to Apply letter on the next steps to complete your application.

Research Area

Candidates should check the details of research topics based on the department and select up to 2 preferred research topics only. A research proposal for each selected research topic must be submitted with the application.
