Olivia Nuzzi’s ex-fiance Ryan Lizza confirms broken engagement after RFK Jr. sexting scandal
Olivia Nuzzi’s ex-fiancé, Ryan Lizza, has confirmed that they ended their engagement after rumors surfaced about her involvement with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Nuzzi, a political reporter for New York magazine, and Lizza, who works for Politico, had gotten engaged in Italy in September 2022. However, their relationship recently ended after allegations came out about Nuzzi exchanging personal messages with Kennedy.
Ryan Lizza, 50, commented on the situation, saying that because of his connection to the story through Nuzzi, he and his editors decided that he wouldn’t cover anything related to Kennedy at Politico.
Nuzzi, 31, was put on leave after admitting to having a personal relationship with someone she had been reporting on, which goes against her magazine’s policies. Though she didn’t name Kennedy in her statement, sources confirmed it was him, adding that they were exchanging messages earlier in the year. Nuzzi insisted that the relationship never became physical.
A spokesperson for Kennedy denied the rumors, saying Kennedy only met Nuzzi once, when she interviewed him last year.
